Women Who Kick Social Media Ass

by admin on January 8, 2010

Women Who Kick Social Media AssI have been avoiding Twitter Lists since they were first introduced because quite frankly it’s nobody’s business but mine how I group my twitter friends. Today I started a Twitter List called “Women Who Kick Ass” and I have a reason for it…

I want to know the women you think kick ass in Social Media.  You know … the ones that are actually out there making the connections, helping others, teaching, speaking, writing, advising, consulting, designing campaigns, evangelising, entertaining, running events … getting on with doing what they do and using the tools of social media.

I don’t care what industry they work in, I only care that you care what they have to say and you think they kick ass.

Here’s my start:  Women Who Kick Ass

Who would you add?

*Am I up to something? You betcha … not ready to tell just yet.

Here’s one for ya:

Tanya over at http://www.mommygoggles.com/

I’ve worked with several mommy bloggers to promote one of our sites, but none of them come close to kicking as much ass as Tanya kicks!

To use Joe Vitale’s famous one liner.”written far too many books to mention here” which incidentally happens to be true, there really are a Hot Tub full of Kick Ass Women.
In no particular order of merit I’d like to nominate :-
(1) Dana Lynn Smith of http://www.SavvyBookMarketer.com for her excellent series on, yes, appropriately enough, “Book Marketing”
(2) Jennifer Ledbetter.. Jennifer who? Better known as PotPie Girl. By her own admission an odd name for an equally odd tweep! http://twitter.com/PotPieGirl
(3) Samantha Milner of http://www.dsm-publishing.co.uk for her great reports on Twitter and Affiliate marketing.

I could have mentioned the wee Scot famous for her Yellow Beetle, named appropriately MariGold, but then she is top of everyone’s list anyway and following the herd ain’t my bag.

So hope this gets the Peeps above some Kudos,
Yours Mediafully…

Mia

I have three nominations.

1. Kerry Pintado (@kerrypintado on Twitter). She is not only the love of my life but using social media tools to help others.

2. Jade Craven (@JadeCraven). My prediction is that she will be the next big thing in social media blogging. She writes concisely and practically.

3. Lee Safar (@LeeSafar). Talented singer and inspiration behind Dream Angels. She uses MySpace, Blog, Facebook and Twitter to effectively engage her audience.

There are more but these are the three who fit your criteria right now.

Cheers, Iggy

Hi Mia

Well I think that honour should go to you firstly – @mistressmia for the fab idea and your no nonsense approach to business. There is one other that comes to mind of course, a relatively untapped talent who is a little bit shy and goes by the Twitter handle: @jadecraven a smart & innovative person that will go places.

Check out Lani Voivod at Epiphanies, Inc. http://epiphaniesinc.com/

Lani has a deep knowledge of social media and online marketing, but she’s also incredibly passionate, enthusiastic, and full of energy (not to mention wicked funny). Lani kicks ass in so many ways, and really, who wouldn’t want to work with a consulting company named Epiphanies, Inc. with “A-ha Yourself!” for the slogan?

Derek Jenkins January 13, 2010 at 9:02 pm

Jennie Bewes (aka @jbewes aka http://jbewes.com) – kickin’ ARSE (no, not “ass” ;-p) from corporate Australia through to the advertising world.

Oh… and you may have heard of a woman called @mistressmia… happy to provide more feedback on her if required. She also KICKS ARSE.

I vote for the lovely MistressMia also.
Why?
1) Cause I can
2) Her name—sounds naughty
3) I know full well that when I come here I will not be getting any bullshit…which is actually rather refreshing these days
4) I get a good vibe from Mia which is odd….generally I dislike everyone.
5) Thats all. It just seemed stupid to have 4 and not 5 reasons:)

THIS is a great idea Mia! Keep up the ass kicking good times

May I suggest @katekendall ?
The former online editor for Marketing Magazine and current Digital Director for Niche Media, founder of Social Media club Melbourne, & writer on all that is marketing, strategy, journalism, social media, tech and community.

I nominate @amandapalmer – a musician who has mastered the art of twitter use in order to promote everything from ninja gigs to selling concerts. So strictly speaking she is not in social media but has definitely mastered the art of using social media in her profession. (Also definitely kicks ass!)
